Georgia walk-on DB reportedly enters transfer portal after impressing during G-Day
Walk-on defensive back Jehlen Cannady impressed many with his performance in Georgia’s G-Day spring game. It appears he’ll now try to land a scholarship elsewhere.
Cannady has reportedly entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. A class of 2020 recruit out of Westside High School in Macon, Georgia, Cannady chose to walk on at UGA over 7 scholarship offers, including Air Force, Army and Colorado State.
Cannady appeared in 2 games during UGA’s 2021 national championship season, making 3 total tackles. He was a second-teamer during G-Day and impressed many media members with his performance this past weekend.
Jehlen Cannady, a walk-on cornerback at Georgia, is in the transfer portal. Cannady appeared in three games last year and was a second-teamer on G-Day, so he could help somebody.

10. Freshman safeties Ja’Corey Thomas and Malaki Starks showed some nice moments as well, but I think #26 Jehlen Cannady was the surprise of G-Day. The walk-on rSo DB from Macon had tight coverage on experienced WR’s all day,pic.twitter.com/zQAMX7QGBI
