Jermaine Burton has spent the last 2 seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs, with the former 4-star recruit joining the team out of the Atlanta area.

But it appears that his time with the program has come to an end. He is the latest Georgia player to enter the transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

“This has been one of the hardest decisions that I have ever had to make in my life,” Burton said in a statement released on Twitter. “I am very thankful and honored to have been able to play at the University of Georgia…At this time, I feel it is best for me to enter into the transfer portal.”

Burton made 26 catches for 497 yards in 2021, ranking as the team’s 2nd-leading receiver in yardage. His 5 receiving touchdowns were tied with Ladd McConkey for 2nd-most on the team, well behind Brock Bowers’ 13 scoring grabs.

He made 27 catches for 404 yards and 3 touchdowns as a true freshman in 2020, with his receptions and yardage output ranking 3rd on the team.
