Maybe Jacob Eason will be the starting quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs this season. Or, maybe not.

Over the past two weeks of Georgia practices, the freshman signal caller in Eason was typically said to be found with the first team. It was even rumored that Eason had been told he would play the entire Bulldogs’ season-opener.

On Monday, however, it was Greyson Lambert, who started 12 games last year, who took first team reps in practice.

This news surprised some people.

Maybe people are surprised because Lambert isn’t seen as a complete difference-maker the way Eason is perceived to be. Eason, a five-star recruit, was ranked as the No. 2 quarterback in the country in the class of 2016.

As of now, the depth chart reads as an “OR” for who starts at the quarterback position for the Bulldogs. We may end up just having to wait and see at 5:30 p.m. EST on Saturday when the team plays North Carolina at the Georgia Dome on ESPN.
