A disappointing season for Georgia basketball continued in heartbreaking fashion Saturday. After erasing a 12-point halftime deficit vs. No. 1 Auburn, the Bulldogs watched as Wendell Green scored a late game-winner for the Tigers.

Georgia now has 11 losses in its past 12 games with a lone win against Alabama in that stretch. Saturday’s loss is the 3rd straight for the Bulldogs and drops Tom Crean’s squad to 1-9 in SEC play.

The loss was a tough one to swallow and was even tougher for some to face with a controversial no-call on Auburn’s game-winning bucket. With Green driving hard down the lane, he made contact directly into the chest of Georgia’s Jaxon Etter. No whistle was blown as Green settled and made the layup.

After the game, Etter was asked if he thought Green’s contact on the drive should have been called a charge. Etter sidestepped the question in expert fashion.

Etter finished the game with 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks vs. the Tigers. Unfortunately, he’ll likely remember the late no-call the most.
