As Jake Fromm unleashed a pass that could have fallen in a bucket at the goal line, Georgia WR George Pickens was on the receiving end of the touchdown that helped the Bulldogs open a big lead over Baylor in the Sugar Bowl.

Pickens’ 27-yard catch was one of many for him in a first half where the Georgia offense took a while to get going, but once it did, was difficult to stop.

The sensational freshman offered Georgia fans a glimpse of what he could do in the 2020 season and beyond with a tremendous first half when he torched the Baylor defense. Pickens finished with 11 catches for 165 yards and the TD as Georgia led 19-0 at halftime.

Pickens showed why he was a highly-touted recruit with a big first season. Pickens was named the co-winner of Offensive Newcomer of the Year award, given at team’s post-season awards gala, and entering the Sugar Bowl, had 37 catches for 552 yards, both team highs. He also led the team with seven TD catches before his first-half score in New Orleans.

As expected, Pickens picked up plenty of fans from around the country, including Terrell Owens.
