Greg McElroy made a strong case for why the Playoff committee’s judgement is clouded when it comes to Georgia.

The Bulldogs have won 25 games in a row dating back to 2021, but McElroy explained that it doesn’t matter what Georgia did in the past, it should only matter what its done this season.

“No, they haven’t won 25 in a row as it results to this ranking,” McElroy said on Always College Football Wednesday morning. “This ranking, they’ve won 8 in a row. We need to remove the championships won in ’21 and ’22, because they should have no bearing on where they’re ranked right here.”

McElroy thinks that it’s hypocritical to put Georgia all the way at No. 2, but give Ohio State the edge because of strength of schedule.

“Georgia should be at worst 3 or 4, but to have them in the top-2 and then cite to Ohio State’s strength of schedule,” McElroy said. “I think they’re talking themselves into a bit of a hole.”

While the Bulldogs have a weak strength of schedule now, they will play 3 straight top-20 teams and have the chance to solidify their place in the CFP this month.
