It’s difficult to find two more popular people in Georgia than Herschel Walker and Kirby Smart.

The legendary running back and fifth-year head coach have delivered a lot of fond memories to Bulldog faithful. Recently, Walker shared his thoughts about Smart during an interview with Dawgs247.

“There is no doubt about it,” Walker said. “Coach Smart is going to bring a national championship to the University of Georgia because of his recruiting. He recruits like a mad man and then he is a motivator. Guys want to play for a guy like Kirby because he loves the game and he makes the guys want to play for him. Look at what he has done at the University of Georgia. He is a Georgia boy, so how in the world can you ask for anything better. A coach like that to come to the University of Georgia and recruit the state of Georgia.”

Georgia currently has the No. 5 recruiting class in America for 2021, according to 247Sports. Last year, Georgia was No. 1, in 2019, was ranked No. 2 in the country, 2018 was No. 1 and 2017 was No. 3.

Smart also may have just found his quarterback of the future in JT Daniels, who passed for 401 yards last week against Mississippi State. The redshirt sophomore appears to be fully recovered from a knee injury he suffered last season at Southern Cal.
