Coaches around the SEC have reached out multiple times to plead with their fans and campus community to take the necessary steps to slow the spread of the coronavirus to hopefully ensure the season begins in September.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart personally narrated a hype video with scenes around Athens and featuring several fans cheering on the Dawgs. He tweeted the video Monday morning and added a personal message: “Our players have been working every day and taking the proper precautions to play this fall. We need our UGA community to do the same! Make sure we are distancing and wearing masks so we can be on the field soon! We are in this together!”
In the video, the coach said, “In our actions we have a chance to bring about a brighter future. … Today, we have the chance to be strong for each other.”
Smart called it an “immense responsibility” as he said the future relies on all of us and he again encouraged Georgia fans to wear a mask, and social distance six feet apart to build a “greater, safer, future for all.”
