The Georgia Bulldogs rang in the New Year with an incredible 42-41 come-from-behind victory over Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinal from the Peach Bowl.

CJ Stroud and the Buckeyes put themselves in a position to pull the upset down 42-41 with just seconds remaining and a game-winning field attempt on the line.

Due to the game being pushed back until 8:20 p.m. ET, midnight was closing in just as the Buckeyes were attempting their game-winning drive and subsequent field goal attempt.

Timothy Burke synched a multi-cam view of the feed from ESPN’s simulcast, Georgia’s and Ohio State’s radio call, as well as the Times Square ball dropping on 2023.

As the video shows, Noah Ruggles’ 50-yard game-winning field goal attempt started in 2022 and landed in 2023. In real-time as it happened, however, the missed field goal landed with just seconds until the New Year’s ball dropped; however, with TV delayed a few seconds, it landed in 2023.

With TCU’s thrilling win over Michigan and Georgia’s come-from-behind win over Ohio State, the College Football Playoff ratings may be massive. No doubt, it was the most exciting day of semifinals in Playoff history.

Georgia and TCU will play for the national title on Monday, January 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
