The Georgia Bulldogs produced three first-round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft — LB Roquan Smith, OL Isaiah Wynn and RB Sony Michel.
However, there are only two Rookie of the Year awards to go around — one for offense and one for defense. Former Georgia star WR A.J. Green, now with the Cincinnati Bengals, thinks he knows which ex-Dawg will take home some hardware.
Green joined “The Adam Schefter Podcast” on Tuesday and picked Sony Michel as his Rookie of the Year, which you can hear at around the 35-minute mark of the podcast:
“I love Sony — his versatility,” he said. “Him going to New England, that’s my pick of the Rookie of the Year this year. I’ve seen him play. I know how versatile is. You put him in a situation like New England, running routes out of the backfield and going against linebackers, that’s my pick for Rookie of the Year.”
Wynn and Michel both landed in ideal situations, as the Patriots are a perennial Super Bowl contender. Smith, meanwhile, has the potential to make an immediate impact for the Chicago Bears.
It’s safe to say Green will be watching all three, and rooting for them as long as they aren’t playing the Bengals.
