Jacob Eason started his college career off as a starting quarterback at Georgia.

However, after getting injured in his first game as a sophomore, Jake Fromm took over the starting job and never gave it back, leading Eason to transfer to Washington. Once there, he had to sit out a year before starting this past season.

On the “Move the Sticks” podcast recently, Eason opened up about his college journey, sharing how it shaped him as a player (via 247Sports):

“My path was windy,” Eason said. “Coming out of high school, thinking back on it, it was not what I expected at all. There were several things I picked up along the way, whether it was starting as a freshman in the SEC at 18 years old, there’s a whole lot of stories to come out of that. Even when I got injured and sat out the rest of that season as a backup, I learned how to handle that situation, putting the team first and being a team player instead of me guy.

“The next year was when I couldn’t play on Saturdays. I had to find a new love and appreciation for the game and practice and the weight room. That was a cool, unique experience to go through that. Then ultimately, I got back and let it loose this on Saturdays this last season and had a ton of fun. It couldn’t have been with a better group of guys or better coach.”

Eason is getting some buzz as being the potential fourth-best quarterback in this draft class, behind Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert.

We’ll see where he ends up in the 2020 NFL Draft in April.
