A nickname and turn of phrase that has quickly moved through the Georgia fan base has been endorsed by a certain quarterback’s mother.

Freshman Jake Fromm is scheduled to start at quarterback for Georgia against Notre Dame on Saturday in place of injured Jacob Eason, and since he came in early against Appalachian State last week, his State Farm insurance-inspired nickname has skyrocketed in popularity: “Jake Fromm State Farm.”

As the television commercial goes, a late-night call with a State Farm customer leads a curious spouse to wonder who her husband is talking with and what is the person wearing. The representative from the insurance company on the phone replies, “Khakis.”

Fromm himself has tweeted it in recent days, and Bulldog fans joined the movement as a way to celebrate the season-opening win.

Fromm’s mother, Lee, this week tweeted a picture of the uniform with “Khakis” on the name plate, with a little pep talk: “Do what you do.”
