Jalen Carter came out of the 2022 college football season as arguably the top prospect for the NFL Draft. After some off-field question marks and a disappointing Pro Day, some have wondered how much of a hit Carter’s stock has taken in the pre-draft process.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Carter’s camp is still preparing for the talented defensive lineman to be a top-10 pick. Schefter reports Carter will visit the Chicago Bears on Monday, his second visit of the process having already visited the Philadelphia Eagles.

Carter’s agent — Drew Rosenhaus — tells Schefter they are currently declining visits with any NFL team outside of the top 10 picks in the draft:

“I’m confident Jalen will go in the top 10,” Rosenhaus said. “He’s a good person, a family man, loves football and is a generational talent.”

Where will Jalen Carter land in the draft?

Even if Carter proves to be the best prospect in the draft, the odds are slim that he will go No. 1 overall. The Bears traded out of the No. 1 overall spot with the Carolina Panthers heavily expected to take the QB of their choice.

Overall, most analysts expect the top group of QBs in Bryce Young, Will Levis, Anthony Richardson and CJ Stroud to all come off the board. Teams in the top 10 picks likely uninterested in taking a QB early in this year’s draft include the Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Bears and Eagles.

We’ll find out if one of those teams is interested in taking Carter to anchor their defensive line.
