Jaylen Heyward, a 4-star 2024 safety recruit, has announced that he will play in the SEC.

Heyward is from Rockledge, Florida, and is ranked the No. 3 safety in the country in the Class of 2024, and the No. 9 player in the state of Florida. He’s listed at 5-foot-11 1/2 and 180 pounds. He has a reported 34 offers, and committed to Georgia. He was recruited to Georgia by Fran Brown. He chose Georgia over the likes of Alabama, Florida, Ohio State and Michigan.

Here’s his scouting report from 247Sports:

Instinctive defensive back prospect with a rather promising profile given track times and offensive background. Over 5-foot-10 and believed to be carrying 185 pounds or more. Already pretty muscular in the upper half, but should only add more mass once working with a college strength coach and eating on a meal plan. Spent much of the past two years working as a cornerback in a traditional 4-3 look and was asked to play a lot of bump-and-run coverage on the outside.
