Joel Klatt is concerned about Georgia going into Wednesday’s College Football Playoff quarterfinal against Notre Dame.
Klatt broke down the matchup on his show this week. He cited issues on both sides of the ball when talking about why the Bulldogs could be “in trouble” against the Fighting Irish.
“When your team can’t run the ball and they’ve got the backup quarterback in, you’re in trouble,” Klatt said. “Just, period. Now you’re going to face a Notre Dame team that seems to be built, in particular on the offensive side, exactly how you would build a team to give Georgia’s defense problems.
“So yes, Georgia is in trouble. I don’t love the 1.5. I think Notre Dame can absolutely win this game. Riley Leonard, I think he could have a big night … I like Notre Dame. I really do. This is not the same Georgia team that we have seen over the last few years. It’s not.”
Here’s a clip from his analysis:
Georgia’s offense and defense both generally have worse numbers in 2024 than they did in 2023. However, the Bulldogs were still formidable enough to beat Texas twice en route to a SEC Championship.
Kickoff is set for 8:45 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
