The Georgia Bulldogs will lose DL John Atkins to graduation after this season, but other than that, the defensive line should look pretty similar in 2018.

That’s because junior Jonathan Ledbetter is leaning toward coming back for his senior season, according to comments he made during Friday’s Rose Bowl press conference.

Ledbetter said he thinks the Bulldogs are primed to make another run at the College Football Playoff next year and wants to be a part of it (via Rivals.com):

“Honestly, I think I want to stay ,” Ledbetter said. “I think it’s just best for me and my family and I hope a lot of other guys decide to stay the course. I feel we have a chance to do it again and I believe everybody else does.”

Ledbetter has appeared in 12 games for the Bulldogs this year, recording 29 tackles (3.5 for a loss) and one sack.

Those aren’t exactly NFL numbers, so it’s no surprise Ledbetter will return to Athens. If he has a big year next season, though, he could work his way up some teams’ draft boards.
