The Georgia Bulldogs will enter the 2019 season as one of the favorites to reach the College Football Playoff.

If they get there, they could absolutely make a run to the title, and SEC Network analyst Jordan Rodgers thinks coach Kirby Smart’s crew has the talent to do just that.

Rodgers praised QB Jake Fromm while noting on ESPN’s “Get Up” that the Dawgs need to find some consistency in their receiving corps to truly be a title favorite (via 247Sports):

“Georgia is my favorite right now to make a run at the National Championship,” Rodgers said. “It starts up front. With Jake Fromm, what you notice and what you love about his game is it’s entirely predicated off anticipation. He is so good about getting the ball out early. He picks you apart if you play zone. But you forget that year going into Week 8, he was actually the third-worst quarterback on third down in the power five. The problem is, more man coverage and more pressure in his face. With the inexperienced group at wide receiver, what I start to worry about is it’s harder to anticipate.”

Losing Mecole Hardman, Riley Ridley and Terry Godwin will definitely hurt the receiving corps, but there’s still talent to go around in Athens.

Will the Dawgs get to the Playoff? We’ll start finding out soon.
