JT Daniels had a strained oblique earlier in the season. Now, the Georgia redshirt junior quarterback is dealing with another injury. And it could potentially impact his availability for Saturday’s game against Arkansas.

Earlier in the week, Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart told the media that Daniels’ oblique is “fine,” but that the QB is now dealing with a “lat issue” that has caused him some discomfort both last week and this week. Does that mean Daniels may not play against the Razorbacks on Saturday?

On Friday, ESPN’s Holly Rowe told reporters (including McClain Baxley of the Athens Banner-Herald) that Daniels will be a “game-time decision” for Georgia.

“We’ll see how Georgia’s offense is going to operate. Is JT Daniels going to play? We don’t really know at this point,” Rowe said.

ESPN’s Chris Fowler said during an appearance on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Friday that the Bulldogs are “hopeful” that Daniels will play (h/t Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald).

The Athletic’s Seth Emerson noted that Daniels has practiced this week. So perhaps that bodes well for the quarterback’s chances of taking the field on Saturday.

Daniels didn’t play the full game last week, but that was because Georgia was cruising to a 62-0 win over Vanderbilt. He went 9-for-10 for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns.

If Daniels can’t play or is limited, the Bulldogs will rely on redshirt senior Stetson Bennett, who has played well when called upon this year. Bennett has passed for 443 yards, 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, but he’s also played against weaker competition (UAB, South Carolina and Vandy).

Georgia and Arkansas are set to kick off on Saturday at noon ET on ESPN.
