JT Daniels draws reaction on social media after return to the field for Georgia
By Adam Spencer
Published:
JT Daniels returned to the field for Georgia for the first time in over a month on Saturday against Mizzou.
Playing in the second half of what turned into yet another blowout win for the Bulldogs, Daniels played well, completing 7 of 11 passes for 82 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
There was no doubt Stetson Bennett IV was the better Georgia quarterback on Saturday, but how much of that has to do with Bennett potentially being a better option for the Dawgs and how much of it has to do with Daniels simply being rusty after returning from a lengthy absence?
That was the cause of some debate on Saturday. As you can see below, there were some mixed reactions on Twitter. Here’s some of what was said about Daniels’ performance:

Yeah, JT Daniels is the mop up dude. He looks terrible.

The possibility I may not have prepared for is that JT Daniels may also be sorta mid

stetson bennett iv makes a mistake: "no arm talent" or he cannot miss the throw"jt daniels makes a mistake: "rust!"

That’s what happens when you don’t play a real game for 6 weeks. Shake off the rust JT Daniels.

Please cut JT Daniels some slack, he hasn’t played in over a month and he’s trying to get that rust off.#GoDawgs

This is why you play JT Daniels now. Let him get that rust out of his system.
Run him right back out there.

Where will Georgia turn next week? We’ll see if Bennett continues to start or if Daniels takes over as QB1 in Athens.
