The biggest news in the college football world this week is that former 5-star QB Justin Fields plans to transfer from Georgia.

His name is currently in the NCAA Transfer Portal, but that doesn’t mean the Bulldogs are giving up on the elite prospect just yet.

On Wednesday, during his press conference to discuss the first day of the early signing period, coach Kirby Smart said the Bulldogs have been clear with Fields that they want him to stay:

There are going to be dozens of top programs interested in Fields, and he’s probably started hearing from them already. However, there’s still a chance he could decide not to transfer.

It sounds like Smart and the Dawgs will do everything they can to convince the former 5-star prospect to stay in Athens.
