Kirby Smart is as familiar with Bo Nix as any opposing coach since he’s faced off against him each season of Nix’s career at Auburn.

Smart knows how Nix rescued the Tigers at LSU last week, and how he can extend plays and put more stress on a defense. Nix last week against LSU was 23-for-44 passing for 255 yards and a touchdown. He also had 12 carries for 74 yards and another TD.

“He’s done a good job of doing some reads and things across the field,” Smart said on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “He keeps his eyes down the field much better. He’s obviously a great athlete. … If things break down, he can scramble and make plays with his legs or his eyes downfield. … You get better by playing, and he’s played a lot of football in our conference. He’s playing the best he has right now.”
