When you’re a successful coach like Georgia’s Kirby Smart, people are going to want to hear you speak.

That’s why the Anderson Touchdown Club in South Carolina decided to pay Smart $2,500 to have him speak at their year-end meeting. Smart, though, had a better idea for the money.

The Anderson Touchdown Club donated Smart’s check to the Calvary Children’s Home in honor of the Georgia coach, according to IndependentMail.com:

“That was a tremendous night. We had over 600 people come listen to coach Smart,” Anderson Touchdown Club president Bill Brissey said. “We had a lot of people who sold ads and raised money for this occasion.”

Brissey added Smart requested the Touchdown Club donate the money to a local charity or non-profit.

Obviously, Smart isn’t exactly hurting for money these days, but it is still a very classy gesture from the Georgia coach.

The money will go toward building two new foster homes on the campus of the Calvary Children’s Home, each of which will house five or six foster children.
