Georgia (10-0) has diversified on offense all season with 10 wide receivers who have more than 10 catches and 11 wideouts with at least a TD.

Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart credits offensive coordinator Mike Bobo for that. Bobo moved up from offensive analyst to offensive coordinator this year with the departure of Todd Monken to the Baltimore Ravens.

Smart told reporters on Tuesday that he’s impressed by Bobo’s “ability to adapt to the personnel we have” amid a “very rotating lineup” this fall. It’s not just the wideouts as 9 Bulldogs rushers have TDs and 7 have 16 or more carries, only 1 of them averages fewer than 4.6 yards per attempt.

Smart went through the litany of injuries to offensive players this year from tight end Brock Bowers to fellow tight end Lawson Luckie. Injuries have impacted running backs and wide receivers, too, Smart pointed out.

“So the ability to teach concepts and plug and play players, his development of a quarterback, his leadership … and messaging to the offense is critical because I’m not over there all the time,” Smart said. “So he has to be the leader … and voice of reason.”

Georgia averages 40.6 points and 504.8 yards per game, hardly missing a beat from the Monken days. The Bulldogs look to keep the offense going strong against SEC rival No. 18 Tennessee (7-3) on Saturday.
