Kirby Smart and No. 1 Georgia have done a ton of winning during a span that includes back-to-back national titles. Georgia is currently off to a 7-0 record heading into the rivalry matchup against Florida (5-2) this weekend.

Georgia hasn’t lost a game since falling to Alabama in the 2021 SEC title game. Georgia’s last regular season loss came to Florida in 2020.

However, Smart isn’t dwelling on the long winning streak and is more focused on the attention to detail required in the quest for a historic 3-peat.

“Don’t think about it a lot. What consumes me is how we’re going to gain a yard or how we’re going to do in this situation. What we’re going to do at practice,” Smart said. “I can’t speak for every kid on the team. But the focus is not on the wins and losses of the games.”

Smart reiterated that honing in on the little things should be the main focus because eventually the streak will come to a close.

“Like I’ve said all the time, that’s going to come to an end. I’ve been a part of a lot of streaks. That’s going to come to an end at some point. When it does, we’ll worry about the next game,” Smart said. “I don’t think you can be consumed with that thought process or think that way. You’ve got to think towards what you can do to help your team win.”

Georgia vs. Florida is slated for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff from EverBank Stadium.
