Kirby Smart and the Georgia players and coaches arrived in South Florida on Sunday evening as the Bulldogs will take the next step in their preparation for the Orange Bowl matchup with Michigan.

“Our players are excited, we have a lot of players from this area, we recruit this area heavily and I know our players are looking forward to this weather,” Smart said.

Smart said he’s aware of the time off between games, and knows that’s something Georgia has to prepare for as it gets set for Friday’s game. The Orange Bowl CFP semifinal will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

“Any time you have a long break between games it’s important to understand how your team needs to practice and play,” Smart said. “You also have to be smart how you practice down here because you don’t practice at the same time as you play the game. You play the game at night and we practice during the day.”

The Bulldogs will begin practicing at Barry University on Monday.
