Was Kirby Smart hiding QB decision with open practice mixup?
Is Kirby Smart hiding something?
The first-year coach still hasn’t revealed who will start for Georgia in its season opener against UNC Saturday and may have taken an elaborate approach to avoid the media. Reporters missed Georgia’s open practice Wednesday because — as the school claims — the team was “given an incorrect start time by accident.”
Wednesday was supposed to be the media’s last chance to attend an open practice as both Thursday and Friday will be closed. It’s definitely suspicious and as ESPN’s Mark Schlabach notes, could be a ploy to avoid media attention over his quarterback decision.

Greyson Lambert and Jacob Eason have been competing for the starting job since spring practice. Lambert has the advantage in experience having started in 12 games for Georgia last season. But Eason enters as the nation’s top quarterback signee from the 2016 national recruiting class and has plenty of raw potential.
Could Smart be diverting the media from seeing the freshman getting more reps than the veteran or is this actually just a huge misunderstanding?
