Kirby Smart addressed reporters following the Bulldogs’ best win of the season last night.

The Bulldogs controlled Week 6 from start to finish, downing the Wildcats 51-13. Carson Beck had his best performance as a Bulldog and though Smart thinks it can be cleaned up, Georgia played well defensively too.

A player who had a great game despite not sticking out on the top of the stat sheet was Mississippi State transfer WR Rara Thomas, who finished with 5 receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown.

Smart was pleased with Thomas’ performance postgame, and when asked about his play Saturday night Smart told reporters that Thomas is the guy that can make the biggest change for Georgia offensively.

We’ll let him explain:

“Yeah, (Thomas is) the biggest guy that can change our offense,” Smart said Saturday. “We have some guys that can do things, obviously Brock is special. Carson has played well. There are a lot of guys who can do things. It loosens your whole defense up when you’ve got a guy at X that can win some one on ones. If he comes to life and keeps growing like he’s done, he makes us harder to defend. Because there are a lot of answers you have, it’s hard to answer if the guy can go up and catch the ball one-on-one.”

Thomas was heralded by some as an instant impact guy for the Bulldogs, but he’s had a bit of a slow start to the season. Time will tell if Thomas becomes a favorite target for Beck as his confidence continues to grow.
