Kirby Smart offers injury update for Mykel Williams, others ahead of Alabama showdown

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs play one of their most important regular season games in recent memory on Saturday as they travel to Tuscaloosa to take on No. 4 Alabama.
And there’s some news ahead of that battle relating to injuries. Georgia’s head coach told reporters on Monday that star pass rusher Mykel Williams “did some running” on Thursday and Friday of last week, and that he’s “hopeful” Williams will be able to see the field on Saturday. Smart is also hopeful Jordan Hall can play against the Tide with a leg injury.
Williams is dealing with an ankle injury that has caused him to miss most of the 2024 campaign thus far.
OLB Mykel Williams (ankle) did some running on Thursday and Friday, Kirby Smart said he’ll see how Williams does at practice today.
DT Warren Brinson (ankle) practiced last week, DT Jordan Hall (leg) categorized as “hopeful.”
(Official availability reports start Wed. night.)

Kirby Smart says he’s “hopeful” star pass rusher Mykel Williams can play at Alabama.
Again, I’d like to advocate for “hopeful” as an official injury designation on the availability report.

The Bulldogs will need all the help they can get on defense against an excellent Alabama offense, spearheaded by QB Jalen Milroe. The Heisman candidate is the definition of “dual-threat” and has vastly improved as a passer after struggling to start last season.
The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide will face off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
