Kirby Smart met with media Monday afternoon to discuss Georgia’s Week 2 win over Tennessee Tech. Smart addressed a few things Monday, including the injury status of tight end Oscar Delp and defensive lineman Mykel Williams.

Delp suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 and did not see action in the 2nd half. But it seems Delp has avoided a serious injury – Smart said Monday “Oscar is good, Oscar is fine.” He did not comment on his availability for Week 3 against Kentucky, but initial word sounds like he’ll be back on the field very soon.

Williams missed last week’s game after suffering an injury in Week 1 against Clemson. Smart was less enthusiastic about Williams’ quick return. Here’s what he had to say:

“He’s got to be able to practice. He’s got to be able to run,” Smart said, via DawgNation. “He’s got to be able to compete and go run and rehab. He did a good job this weekend of getting extra time in. He’s got to show he can help us win.”

Smart told reporters last week that Williams’ injury is not going to be a long-term one. We’ll see how he fares moving forward in practice.
