Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs will be in action on New Year’s Day, facing off against Notre Dame in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The winner has an opportunity to play in the national semifinals.

On Monday, Smart talked about what the Fighting Irish bring to the table, and he said they are a well-balanced team on both sides of the ball.

“Really good, solid, fundamentally sound, don’t beat themselves, play good defense — great defense,” Smart said. ” They are really physical at the line of scrimmage, and they’ve got a really athletic quarterback. There’s a reason they’re at the point they’re at in the season.”

One area he was really complementary of the Fighting Irish is on the offensive side of the ball. Especially the 2-headed monster in the backfield with Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price.

“They have unbelievable backs. Who you hand it to, it doesn’t matter,” Smart said. “Those guys are tremendously talented and do a great job When you throw the skillset of Riley (Leonard), their quarterback, in there, it just makes it that much tougher to defend. They have multiple weapons, multiple options. They’re committed to it, they’re committed to the run.”

Despite being the higher seed, the Bulldogs are currently the underdog headed into the matchup against Notre Dame.
