Kirby Smart met with media Monday afternoon to, among other things, provide an injury update for star running back Trevor Etienne, who suffered a rib injury against Florida last Saturday.

Etienne, who transferred from Florida only toted the ball 7 times on Saturday due to his injury and there was some question whether he’d be 100% – if available at all – for the Bulldogs’ upcoming matchup against Tennessee.

But Smart said Monday that he “feels good” about Etienne’s status for Saturday against the Rebels, who possess one of the better run defenses in the conference.

That’s great news for the Bulldogs, who are looking for another resume win to add to their College Football Playoff argument. Georgia is safely in the field as of now but can guarantee a spot by winning out.

Etienne has been an important piece for Smart and Co. He’s rushed for 453 yards on 89 carries, an average of 5.1 yards per carry. Etienne has also found the end zone 7 times this season.

By far Etienne’s best game of the year came against Texas, where he rushed for 87 yards with 3 trips to the end zone. This helped the Bulldogs secure what is still perhaps the most impressive win of the season by any team.

Georgia and Ole Miss face off at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
