Kirby Smart provides update on Georgia's injury situation, says 5 Bulldogs will miss spring practices
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are beginning spring practices this week as they prepare to compete for a third-straight national championship.
But as the Dawgs begin their spring session, they’ll be without some players due to injuries and recovery from surgeries.
On Tuesday, Smart revealed 3 defensive players and 2 offensive players would be out or severely limited during the spring:
- Dan Jackson, S
- Andrew Paul, RB
- Marvin Jones Jr., Edge
- Jalon Walker, LB
- Joshua Miller, OL
Jackson recorded 16 tackles (1 for a loss), 1 interception, 1 forced fumble and 1 pass breakup in 2022.
Walker had 9 tackles (2 for a loss), 1 sack and 1 pass breakup.
Jones had 4 tackles (1 for a loss) and 1 sack.
As of right now, it appears they should all be ready to go for fall camp when it opens later this year. Georgia’s annual spring game will be held on Saturday, April 15, at Sanford Stadium. The Bulldogs open the 2023 regular season on Saturday, Sept. 2, at home against UT Martin.
