Kirby Smart detailed the recovery process for offensive lineman Tate Ratledge, who suffered a season-opening injury on Saturday against Clemson.

Ratledge is out for the season with a foot injury, something Smart called it “very unfortunate.”

“It will be a tough 4 or 5 months for him,” Smart said at a Monday press conference. “We’re hoping he can recover and be back for spring ball.”

The Georgia coach then explained how the offensive line would be shuffled because of the injury, and how the Bulldogs try to have players available at multiple positions to prepare for injury replacements.

Smart mentioned among the possible replacements at right guard are Xavier Truss, Owen Condon and Warren Ericson. Other possible moves include Broderick Jones, who is “ready to go” at left tackle, which is a move that could push Jamaree Salyer inside.
