Kirby Smart weighs in on Georgia being ranked No. 1 in the polls
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs wake up on this Monday morning ranked No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches Polls.
The Bulldogs have been incredible this year, especially on defense, allowing only 33 total points through 6 games.
But, the Dawgs are trying not to buy into, to borrow a phrase from Nick Saban, the rat poison. During his Monday press conference, Smart said No. 1 is “just a number.” He added that being in that spot at the end of the year is all that matters:
Kirby Smart on being ranked No. 1: "It's just a number, right? … The goal is to be No. 1 at the end of the season, you always know that. But to have an opportunity to do that you have to be in the (top) four."

Georgia will face a tough test in its first game as the No. 1 team in the land. That’s because an undefeated Kentucky team comes to Athens on Saturday.
We’ll see if the Bulldogs can continue to dominate.
