The UCF Knights are going all out to celebrate their self-proclaimed national title, from paying full coaching bonuses to raising a banner to having a victory parade at Disney World.

However, the real National Championship Game will be played on Monday, and it won’t feature UCF.

During media day on Saturday, Georgia coach Kirby Smart was asked about UCF’s title claim, and he was quickly dismissive of the idea:

However, he did add that he understands where the Knights are coming from:

If the Bulldogs win their first title in 37 years on Monday night, no one is going to be able to take that away from them — not UCF, not anyone else.

However, beating Alabama is not going to be an easy task. This is the title game for a reason, and Monday night should provide one of the best games of the year with the actual championship trophy on the line.
