Kirk Herbstreit has released his top-performing coaches of the week for Week 6.

One SEC coach made the cut this week — Georgia defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann. He helped lead the Bulldogs to a 51-13 win over a then-No. 20 Kentucky team on Saturday.

Oklahoma’s Brent Venables, Louisville’s Jeff Brohm, Clemson’s Wes Goodwin, Wyoming’s Craig Bohl, Michigan’s Jesse Minter and Georgia Tech’s Brent Key also made the cut.

Schumann’s defense limited Kentucky to just 3.7 yards per play on Saturday. The Wildcats were completely out-played at the line of scrimmage as the Bulldogs kept the Wildcats to only 12 first downs in the entire game.

Kentucky went just 2-for-11 on third down against UGA and amassed only 183 total yards.

Schumann is in his fifth season as Georgia’s co-defensive coordinator. A former Alabama player, Schumann has been on staff with the Bulldogs since 2016.

Georgia’s defense is allowing opposing offenses to gain just 4.32 yards per play so far this season, which leads the SEC. The Bulldogs will face Vanderbilt on Saturday.
