Kris Jenkins and Michigan not only have Ohio State top of mind, but also Georgia after the Wolverines fell to the Bulldogs 2 seasons ago, and Michigan is well aware of the current measuring stick in college football.

This practice period was first revealed by Bruce Feldman in late June.

To explain it, though, Jenkins invoked a Ric Flair reference.

“Beat Georgia is a gritty drill, where we try to get in and improve ourselves physically, it’s really a bit of a trench battle, as we call it,” Jenkins said. “We obviously put that in because it keeps up with that mentality, in order to be the guy, you’ve got to beat the guy, and right now that guy is Georgia. Georgia has proven themselves to be a dominant football team, give them their respect, obviously. In order for us to walk the walk, talk the talk, we’ve got to improve that emphasis every single day in practice. So that’s more of like a reminder, an emphasis of the kind of football team we want to be.”
