Ladd McConkey scores 1st career NFL touchdown for Chargers
Ladd McConkey had a solid career for Georgia, and now the wide receiver is in the NFL after being taken in the 2nd round by the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chargers, in Jim Harbaugh’s first game as their head coach, defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 22-10 at SoFi Stadium. McConkey was the team’s top receiver with 5 catches for 39 yards and a touchdown as Justin Herbert was held just below 150 yards passing.
McConkey’s 1st career touchdown catch came with 3 minutes, 40 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter, as he caught a 10-yard pass from Herbert to extend the Chargers’ lead.
Here’s video of the play below, as McConkey does a great job evading his defender to get into the end zone:

McConkey was a key part of Georgia’s national championship teams in 2021 and 2022. He’ll look to carry his college success over to the professional ranks as part of the Chargers offense and emerge as a reliable target for Herbert.
