Lars Tate, former Georgia running back and one of the top backs in Bulldogs history, passed away Tuesday at the age of 56.

Tate played for the Bulldogs from 1984-1987 and totaled 625 career carries for 3,017 yards and 36 touchdowns upon departure from Athens.

Tate spent 3 years in the NFL, 2 with Tampa Bay and his final in Chicago with the Bears. He was drafted by the Bucs in the 2nd round of the 1988 NFL Draft.
