A look at Kirby Smart's time as a player for Georgia
It’s no secret now that Kirby Smart is returning to his Alma Mater to coach the Bulldogs in 2016.
Now seems like an appropriate time to look at Smart’s playing career at Georgia.
From 1995 to 1998 Smart shined as a safety for the Bulldogs. He earned four letters as a defensive back and ranks fourth on the all-time list with 13 career interceptions.
In the 1995 season, he also served as Georgia’s kick returner averaging 22.1 yards per return.
Smart’s coaching career began at Georgia as an administrative assistant under Jim Donnan in 1999. He returned to coach the Bulldogs running backs for the 2005 season but then joined Nick Saban with the Miami Dolphins.
Here’s a look at some photos of Smart as a Georgia player.
