Report: Former elite prospect Luke Ford not practicing with Georgia ahead of Sugar Bowl
Talented Georgia freshman TE Luke Ford (Carterville, IL) isn’t practicing with the team ahead of the Sugar Bowl, per a report from The Athletic’s Seth Emerson.
Emerson reports that Ford was back home in Illinois as UGA began its bowl prep for Texas. The early indications are that Ford may leave the team.
Ford signed early with Georgia in the class of 2018. Shane Beamer was the TEs coach, and he left for Oklahoma the following month, as Beamer was one of the main reasons Ford signed with the Bulldogs.
Ford is the former No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Illinois for the class of 2018, including being ranked as the nation’s No. 51 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He caught one pass in 10 games this season.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.

Yes, it’s a fluid situation. We’ll see, but he’s not with the team right now. https://t.co/umliuRaQ1c
