Mark Richt congratulated by ESPN colleagues on Hall of Fame induction

Mark Richt is officially a Hall of Fame coach. The former head coach of Georgia and Miami was formally inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame this week in Las Vegas.
Richt got a special salute from his ESPN family at the ACC Network, where he has worked since 2019. EJ Manuel, Eric Mac Lain, Eddie Royal and Kelsey Riggs could not help but gush about how fortunate they have been to work alongside Richt covering college football. Manuel, a former Florida State quarterback, added some laughs, recalling that he wanted to play for Richt but did not get recruited by the then-UGA coach out of high school.

As a head coach, Richt posted a 171-64 overall record, going 145-51 at Georgia and 26-13 at Miami, his alma mater. He is one of only 5 coaches in FBS history to notch 145 wins or more in their first 15 seasons.
Richt led UGA to 15 consecutive bowl berths, including 3 New Year’s Six games. Miami went to bowl games in all 3 seasons under Richt.
Richt was the SEC Coach of the Year for the 2002 and ’05 seasons. He was named ACC Coach of the Year in 2017.
