Matt Barrie has changed his tune on Georgia after the Bulldogs’ win over Missouri on Saturday.

Barrie believes Georgia proved just how good they are with the win over a team that was looking great coming into the matchup.

“They’re like a boa constrictor,” Barrie said on his show Sunday. “They give you a little bit of hope that they’re gonna let you survive, and then they literally squeeze the life out of you at the end and just keep on winning.”

For Barrie, the performance from Georgia showed that it is the best team in the country. The Bulldogs didn’t have a win over a great team yet, but now they do, and Barrie believes they should be the No. 1 team in the CFP rankings this week.

“I’ve changed my tune, that if I were the College Football Playoff committee, which I’m not, I would rank Georgia No. 1 this week based on another dominant performance,” Barrie said. “Ohio State by virtue of resume got there, great, but they still don’t impress me as the No. 1 team. And they’re not the best team, they’re No. 1 based on their resume. I think Georgia long but proved they’re the No. 1 team in the country.”

Now Georgia has a chance to continue proving how good it is as it takes on Ole Miss and Tennessee in back-to-back weeks. If the Bulldogs can pull out another pair of signature wins, there will be no doubt they are the top team.
