Former Georgia players issue their support for Matt Luke to become the next offensive line coach in Athens
Kirby Smart not only lost arguably his best recruiter when Sam Pittman left Georgia to become the new head coach at Arkansas, but he also lost the best offensive line coach in the nation.
In an interesting twist, Smart may have lost his offensive line coach to a head coaching position in the SEC but it appears the Georgia coach will replace Pittman with a former SEC head coach.
The speculation out of Athens is that Smart will turn to former Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke to replace Pittman moving forward. If that is the hire made by Georgia, it would be a good one, as Luke has a long history of coaching and recruiting in the SEC and even played on the offensive line at Ole Miss. Luke has been coaching the offensive line position dating back to 2000 with the majority of that time being spent in the SEC.
After hearing the rumblings down in Athens, former Bulldogs David Andrews and DJ Shockley have both issued their support for Luke to get the job.
If @CoachMattLuke is the next oline coach at @GeorgiaFootball they will be in good hands. He recruited me when he was at duke and was my favorite coach that I got to spend time with. Really pushing for this one!

This would be a phenomenal hire as Matt Luke is well respected & was loved by his players. As a guy who played the position in this league his credibility in that O-Line room would be instant! Really good motivator and teacher! https://t.co/87wlBE8RZB
