Though NFL teams are still waiting for official activities to start amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford and RB D’Andre Swift — both former Georgia stars — have been able to get a few workouts in together in the Atlanta area.

It’s safe to say the former Bulldogs are getting along well, as Stafford shared some early thoughts on Swift this week.

In an interview with DetroitLions.com, Stafford said Swift’s versatility will be an exciting part of the Lions’ offense moving forward:

“As a player goes, he’s a back that can kind of do it all,” Stafford said of Swift. “I think he does a good job out of the backfield catching the ball and making big plays. They handed it to him a bunch and he was doing a great job running with it.”

Also important is the fact that Stafford can now watch Georgia games with Swift. He’ll need the support, as the Lions also have Auburn’s Kerryon Johnson and Alabama’s Bo Scarbrough in their running back room.

Surely there will be some fun bets on the Auburn-Georgia and Georgia-Alabama games if they are able to be played as scheduled this fall. We’ll find out soon enough!
