Mecole Hardman and the Kansas City Chiefs were one of two 5-0 teams in the NFL at the start of Week 7.

After the Minnesota Vikings lost to the Detroit Lions on a last-second field goal, the Chiefs are now the league’s lone undefeated team, moving 6-0 with a 28-18 win over the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of Super Bowl LVIII.

That’s thanks in part to the efforts of Hardman. The former Georgia standout had a solid day both on offense and special teams, ending the afternoon with 110 all-purpose yards. He had one catch for 17 yards, but his 18-yard end-around touchdown with 3 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter — he totaled 2 carries for 38 yards — made it a 28-12 Chiefs lead, essentially icing the game at Levi’s Stadium.

Hardman also broke off a 55-yard punt return with 4 and a half minutes played in the second quarter, setting the Chiefs up at the Niners’ 38. They would go on to score a touchdown to extend their lead to 14-3.

Hardman and the Chiefs look to remain perfect in Week 8 as they travel to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders. Meanwhile, the Niners fell to 3-4 and next host the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football”.
