Media reacts to Georgia's win over Arkansas
The Georgia Bulldogs got off to a rough start against Arkansas Saturday, but thankfully, they found a winning combination with backup quarterback Stetson Bennett in the second half.
Georgia beat the Hogs 37-10.
Bennett replaced starter D’Wan Mathis late in the first half, and Mathis clearly wasn’t ready for SEC play. The dual-threat quarterback finished just 6-of-14 for 37 yards and 1 INT. Bennett, on the other hand, finished 20-of-29 for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Bennett has to be the starter moving forward, as JT Daniels hasn’t been cleared to play yet.
Georgia’s slow start saw the Dawgs down 7-5 at halftime to Arkansas, but thankfully, teams play 2 halves in college football. Bennett led Georgia’s offense in the second half to scoring 32 points.
Here’s what media members are saying after Georgia’s win over the Hogs:
Give a kid 1Q to play in a new offense then gets pulled. I like Stetson Bennett but I feel bad for Mathis… gonna be tough for him to get confidence back going forward

Feels like Stetson Bennett took this job today. Could be wrong. But he’s playing great.

This Georgia offense is absolutely atrocious so far. Bulldogs look like a 5-5 team right now. At best.

Florida just scored 400 points and looked so great on Offense. And now you turn on the Georgia O and well I guess you cld say the exact opposite. 2 QBs already played already and still zero points scored! Ugly.

Georgia’s offense is going to struggle out the gates with a new QB and new system this year but the defense has to dominate!!! Big INT there and setting there O up with good position. Can they take advantage?

Arkansas ranked dead-last among Power 5 teams in scoring defense last season. Georgia is making them look like the ’85 Bears.

Georgia’s first points of the 2020 season are scored by the defense.
Appropriate.
