It would appear that Kirby Smart’s business approach has trickled down to his Bulldog players this week as Georgia prepares for the upcoming trip to Jacksonville.

There hasn’t been any bold talk from anyone in Athens this week. No trashing of the Gators and you are unlikely to see that until the players hit TIAA Bank Field on Saturday.

Until then, it’s business as usual in Athens.

Case in point, Georgia linebacker Monty Rice was recently asked to size up the challenge facing the Bulldog defense on Saturday.

“I just think they have better players than we have played so far this year, in my opinion,” Rice said during his weekly media availability. “Especially all over the field, especially at the receiver position. They are all fast, make big plays. So you know it’s going to come down to good pass coverage, good pass rush and stopping the run.”

The linebacker’s praise of Florida didn’t stop there. According to Rice, Florida signal-caller Kyle Trask is the best quarterback Georgia will see on the field up until this point of the season.

“I don’t think we’ve faced a quarterback as good as Trask this year,” Rice added. “It’s going to be a good challenge.”

When asked to explain why he believes Trask is so good, Rice added the Gator QB doesn’t make many errors on the field.

“He doesn’t make any boneheaded mistakes, he is going to throw the ball where the receiver can catch it,” he concluded. “He is going to do what he is supposed to do.”

While Rice did not mention Feleipe Franks there, it’s fair to wonder if he believes Trask has proven to be an upgrade over the former Gator starting quarterback. In two games against the Bulldogs, Franks has two interceptions while Trask has just four picks in six games of action this season.
