Nakobe Dean’s decision came down to the final moments but in the end, the nation’s No. 1 linebacker has made his decision — he’s headed to Georgia.

The five-star prospect announced his final decision live on ESPN Wednesday. The 6-foot, 220-pound Dean is rated as the No. 14 overall prospect in the nation and Mississippi’s No. 1 overall recruit. The Horn Lake native made his decision over finalists Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Mississippi State.

The five-star recruit will play in the 2019 Under Armour All-American Game before enrolling in school in Athens. He is expected to sign and enroll early. Dean is also a 4.0 student and the first player in the district’s history to be allowed to graduate early in order to enroll in Athens.

Dean’s decision reportedly came down to Wednesday as the elite linebacker was weighing all his offers from around the nation.
