The legend of Ben “Big Country” Cleveland may be common knowledge in Athens but the story of his squirrel diet has just reached Baltimore after the Ravens selected the Georgia lineman in the 2021 NFL Draft.

If you missed it, the Ravens selected Cleveland in the third round of the draft, with the 94th overall pick in the draft.

Here is what Ravens GM Eric DeCosta had to say about landing Cleveland in the draft, according to the team site:

“At the start of the day, if you had told us we could’ve gotten Ben Cleveland, we would have turned it right in. It was a relief to see him available.”

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh also offered up his thoughts on how Cleveland fits into the team’s plans.

“He’ll definitely have a chance to compete at left guard. He gives a chance possibly to move Bradley to center. We’ll see how that goes. He’s a big, strong powerful guy that likes to rough people up. Ben was a guy that we really wanted. I was kind of being a little bit of a nervous Nellie. I kind of wanted us to trade up.”

During his first media availability since arriving in Baltimore, Cleveland shared some details on his infamous squirrel diet.
